Oppong Nyantakyi has a great passion for charity and community development. Growing up he learns how to give and the need to support others especially the less privileged. As a child, he realized the impact one's generosity can make in the lives of others and he wanted to do more than helping friends and a few other people. Following his passion for charity and a vision to impact lives, Oppong had the opportunity to intern with Cheerful Hearts Foundation(CHF) in 2012 working on the Child Labour and Trafficking project. CHF is a non-profit organization focused on providing support to rural community development needs in the Awutu Senya District of Ghana. During this time he first experienced the intensity and dangers of child labour working closely with victims of child labour in fishing communities. He continued to intern and volunteer with CHF in 2013 and 2014 during his school vacations. He also served as an assistant project coordinator on the Public Health project of CHF which he helps in conducting research to help improve nutrition in rural communities. While at the University pursuing his bachelor degree in Economics in 2014 He became the founder and president of the Methodist University College(MUCG) chapter of Patriots Ghana encouraging, motivating and engaging youth in volunteering and rural community development. Patriots Ghana is a network of patriotic youth who volunteer their time to provide basic support for rural community development in Ghana. He continues to intern/ volunteer with Cheerful Hearts Foundation after his national service in 2015. He is serving as the Project Coordinator of the Education Project of Cheerful Hearts Foundation working closely with schools, children and stakeholders in rural communities and supporting to help improve the standard of education.
