As part of the National Volunteers Day in remembrance of the first Patriot (Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah) and first President of Ghana, Patriots Ghana in collaboration with Ghana Think Foundation (BarCamp, Kasoa) organised a reading clinic and presented donations of assorted books of ten (10) cartons and also made a financial donation to pay for the tuition of four (4) orphans at the Countryside Orphanage, Bawjiase, Central Region.
The group chose to volunteer at this orphanage due to a report from the founder, Madam Emma Boafo about the poor reading performance of the children due to the need for reading books and volunteers to assist with reading. Nothing could be much important on this day to us than spending a quality time as Patriotic youth of Ghana to put smiles on over one hundred and forty (140) orphans through a reading activity and as mentoring these children. It was surprising and overwhelming how excited and appreciative these children and the management of the Countryside Orphanage were “Founder: this was the first time a group has made a donation to sponsor children tuition fee”.
We recommend to every Ghanaian and international volunteers to join the team to volunteer some free time to support the Countryside orphanage.
Please make time to watch a short video on the celebration here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHcttfIe4T8.
Volunteer and Impact!
Many thanks,
Patriots Ghana Team
