Douglas Opoku Agyeman is the National Projects Coordinator of Patriots Ghana. He holds an MPhil in Marketing and is a Research assistant in the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Ghana Business School. Douglas is passionate about improving the social condition of his community and country. While at the university, Douglas founded the Patriots Ghana Chapter of the University of Cape Coast with two other dedicated students with the sole aim of promoting selfless leadership and volunteerism by engaging students in rural community development initiatives. After his 3year term of leadership service, he recruited over 50 students who were engaged in several community development projects. He initiated the Patriots Reading project to help improve educational standards and reading habits after his research on the Fallen Standards of Education in Cape Coast Metropolis, 2013. Douglas worked with his team to organize a number of public health awareness campaigns in Junior High Schools and provided student volunteers who support the Ghana Health Services’ national immunization programs. Out of his selfless and committed leadership qualities, he was selected among the only two Ghanaian who lead a community development initiative for the Hong Kong University in very deprived communities in the Northern and Ashanti regions of Ghana. Douglas also had the opportunity to work as an intern on the Cheerful Hearts Foundation’s, Public Health and Child Labour and Trafficking Project from 2013 to 2015.
One of Patriots Ghana’s primary goals is to promote volunteering through cultural exchange where Ghanaians and Foreign nationals (international volunteers/interns) can take part in Patriots Nationwide volunteer and internship projects to cause development in Ghanaian communities as well as create an opportunity for learning, sharing and developing capacities of volunteers & Interns.Join Our Team
