Esther Dadzie
LEAD STEM Mentor Coordinator
Esther Dadzie joined Patriots Ghana in May 2023, drawn by a simple conviction: she had once been an average student from a government school in a rural community, without textbooks, without resources, sitting on a staircase in tears at Mfantsiman Girls School, until her Biology teacher sat beside her and told her she belonged. That same year, she came first in Chemistry for the entire school. She has never forgotten what one person’s belief can do.
That memory is what brought her to Patriots Ghana when a friend introduced her to the organisation in December 2022 as a speaker to inspire the girls. She applied and joined as a mentor. In 2025, she took that commitment further, coaching a group of the girls with zero prior computational literacy through an entire national robotics competition. They placed 4th nationally and won the Best Engineering Notebook award, recognised for the rigour and quality of their documented thinking.
That result was not an accident. It was the product of the same belief Esther has carried since a teacher sat beside her on a staircase. Given the right encouragement and the right opportunity, every girl is capable of more than the system has told her.
Now a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Ghana, researching antiviral solutions from local Ghanaian plants using nanotechnology, Esther serves as Lead STEM Mentor Coordinator with one unwavering conviction: Africa’s brightest minds are already here. They just need someone to sit beside them.

One of Patriots Ghana’s primary goals is to promote volunteering through cultural exchange where Ghanaians and Foreign nationals (international volunteers/interns) can take part in Patriots Nationwide volunteer and internship projects to cause development in Ghanaian communities as well as create an opportunity for learning, sharing and developing capacities of volunteers & Interns.
