Monica Bentum
STEM Coordinator
Monica Bentum has been an integral part of Patriots Ghana’s mission since 2012, beginning as a dedicated volunteer and later joining the organization formally in 2024 as the STEM Coordinator. Her passion for community service and empowering young women and girls through education and mentorship has been evident throughout her journey.
As STEM Coordinator, Monica leads the Girls in STEM (GIS) Program, where she develops and facilitates workshops, mentors young participants, and coordinates international exchange opportunities. She plays a pivotal role in nurturing interest and talent in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics among underserved girls in Ghana, particularly through immersive learning and global exposure initiatives.
Monica is a Registered Nurse and experienced healthcare professional with years of service under the Ghana Health Service as a Community Health Nurse and Midwifes. Her healthcare work has focused on maternal and women’s health issues, especially within rural and underserved communities. She holds a nursing diploma from the College of Nursing, Winneba, and a midwifery qualification from the University of Cape Coast.
Her dual background in healthcare and STEM education positions her uniquely to advocate for holistic development, bridging health, education, and empowerment for young women across Ghana.

One of Patriots Ghana’s primary goals is to promote volunteering through cultural exchange where Ghanaians and Foreign nationals (international volunteers/interns) can take part in Patriots Nationwide volunteer and internship projects to cause development in Ghanaian communities as well as create an opportunity for learning, sharing and developing capacities of volunteers & Interns.
