Rosina Akourkor Teye

Women’s Rights And Maternal Health Projects Coordinator

Rosina Akourkor Teye brings a wealth of leadership and advocacy experience, with a strong focus on empowering Ghanaian women in health and legal matters across the nation. She is an active member of the Coalition of NGOs in Health in the Central Region and has also contested as a parliamentary aspirant for Assin Central.

Rosina holds a degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, and has furthered her education with diplomas from Cambridge International College in London, England. In 2009, she took on the role of Executive Director of the Dolly Foundation in Assin Foso, Central Region, where she continues to make a significant impact.

Her dedication to public health and legal advocacy is evident in her certifications, including a program on HIV/AIDS and a Legal Literacy Volunteer course with Women in Law and Development in Africa (WiLDAF Ghana). Rosina also contributes as a Coordinator for Girls and Women Programs with African Views and the Global Alliance Development Foundation (GADeF). Additionally, she has expanded her professional expertise as a regional reporter for the Youth Climate Report.

Rosina has participated in numerous conferences and training events in Ghana, including a 3-month youth workers program on HIV/AIDS stigma reduction through education and organizing a breast screening exercise for 1,550 women to reduce maternal mortality. She has also spoken at a summit by Youth Empowerment Synergy (YES Ghana) and organized a World Women’s Day radio program focused on equal access to education, training, and technology as a pathway to decent work for women.

Her dedication to youth and women’s empowerment extends to her role as a peer reviewer for the drafting of the Youth Manifesto in Ghana. Driven by her passion for community development and women’s rights, Rosina earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of North Dakota, USA, further equipping her to make a lasting impact in her field.
